Precinct 444: The National Law Enforcement Museum Podcast
Over a decade of planning and persistence in the making, the National Law Enforcement Museum has opened its doors to the public. Finally, citizens and law enforcement professionals from diverse perspectives and backgrounds will have a place to share in the vibrant story of American law enforcement. Within the walls of the Museum’s strikingly contemporary exterior, artifacts from our collection of more than 25,000 objects tell the story of American law enforcement – past, present, and future – and engage visitors of all ages in memorable, immersive and experiential exhibits. More importantly, we’re proud that the Museum will serve as a platform for constructive dialogue to help strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. We invite all listeners to follow us and submit questions for upcoming episodes!

Strengthening Community Trust: Toronto Police Service Version
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this special edition of Precinct 444, host Josh Bronson welcomes Inspector Michelle Campbell, Toronto Police Service Talent Acquisition, and Ashley Hammill, Toronto Police Service’s Senior Communications Advisor, to unpack how a playful, fan-driven initiative during Taylor Swift’s Toronto concerts evolved into a powerful tool for recruitment and community engagement.
Based on a featured article from Police1, the episode explores how Toronto Police’s Mounted Unit rode into the spotlight wearing album-name friendship bracelets, Reputation and Debut, that mimicked the Taylor Swift fan experience. Rather than forcing virality, TPS let Swifties interpret and amplify the moment organically. This exploded into nearly one billion impressions, millions of dollars in earned media, and an overwhelming response from women interested in law enforcement. Within a very short time, 25 female officers and staff had signed up to represent the Service at related events.
Together they will dive into how a spontaneous, fan-first initiative can redefine police branding, fostering connection, inclusivity, and trust. The episode concludes with actionable insight for agencies aiming to replicate this model: culture-driven strategy over promotion, fan-led engagement, and internal buy-in at the top.
Tune in to discover how creativity and authenticity can transform policing outreach, and why letting your audience tell the story might just be the most powerful strategy of all!
